Health is Improving Daily
You see, I suffered for 15 years with insulin resistance and didn’t know what it was. I would gain 30lbs in one month.
At 41, the deadly effects of this disease caught up with my body and by then my kidneys and heart had taken a hit. My bp was 200/115. My creatinine was 1.6 and my heart EF was 45%. Thankfully I had no outward symptoms of heart failure yet. I was admitted to the hospital. I read and read and read and found out about the carb connection. I was a carb addict eating over 200gms of simple carbs per day.
This was on June 25th, when I made this life saving change. I dont count calories, but I count carbs. I started this journey at 300lbs and I am at 240lbs now in 2 months. People look at me and swear I have had bypass. I am not hungry and my taste buds have actually changed. My skin has cleared up. My kidney dysfunction has been reversed, and is now normal.
I was started on an ace inhibitor and developed life threatening angioedema.
My doctor then against my wishes put me on Cozaar, which is an ARB. I had read that most people that was allergic to ACE1 was allergic to ARB’s.
Well after 3 hours of taking the ARB, I broke out in hives and stopped urinating. I immediately stopped and told the doctor I will not take any more.
He wants me to take Coreg now and I have an appt with him on Wednesday.
Right now I take hctz 25mg and Labetalol 100mg BID, my blood pressure this morning before meds was 135/85. I have slowly weaned off these meds-yes without my doctors knowledge. I added other things to my health regimen and I have decided to take control of my own health care. I now believe the body is a perfect machine and when given what it needs, it will take care of the rest. I am more than ever motivated to get my health in order and get off meds totally.
Since this incident I have logged over 500 hours of research and reading.
Also can you believe on the front of Cozaar’s website it says not to describe the med to people like me? I will complement doctors knowledge with my own, not let their knowledge be the guiding force.

Certainly, I don’t go along on a point or two while the rest seems fine.
