Affordable California Health Insurance Crisis

California health insurance companies are now having to face the state’s legislature after there were hundreds of complaints made against them. One of the most common complaints was health insurance companies canceling consumers policies when they became chronically ill.

City Attorney Delgadillo is seeking up to one billion in fies from Blue Cross health insurance company. This is not the first time that the city has gone after health insurance companies. Just a few months ago the city attorney’s office went after Health Net for cancelling a woman’s policy. The insurance company was ordered to pay $8.4 million in punitive damages to a woman who had her policy cancelled after she contracted breast cancer.

Lack of Affordable Health Care

As a registered nurse, I come across people daily with no insurance, dental or medical. The consequences for not having any insurance is great. I cared for a lady yesterday that needed a heart valve replaced because she had dental cavities that were not cared for. The patient stated that she didn’t have any money for the expensive premiums.

Last week a report came out of Connecticut stating that 3 people every week die because of lack of health coverage. We live in the wealthiest country in the world and people are dying of no insurance.

Cost of Dental Implants in Maine

Dental Implants are artificial tooth roots. Holes are made into the jaw bones and the artificial roots are placed and covered over. The implants then heal and integrate with the jaw. After healing an artificial top (crown) is placed into the implant and crowns, bridges and attachments for dentures can be placed.

Simply stated, a dental implant establishes a foundation for a tooth or teeth to be affixed to where previously there was none.

The term “root form implant” refers to a titanium cylinder that is surgically placed into bone. Root form dental implants have become widely used and accepted for the past 10 years. There are several types of implant systems, for our purposes and ease of understanding, this section will deal with the root form implant.

While a basic dental implant is typically $1,250 to $3,000, depending on your circumstances additional costs for things such as in the case of a posterior mandible, bone regeneration, sinus elevation, and wide diameter or narrow diameter implants can quickly escalate the costs involved to as much as $15,000 to $30,000 for the complete procedure for the upper or lower jaw.
The majority of health insurances refuse to cover implants, however, discount dental plans will give you a genourous discount. For more Information click here

Independent Dental Insurance Companies

When people want to find a solution to covering their dental care expenses, many of them normally think of dental insurance. After all, we have or can have insurance for almost anything else, such as medical insurance, car insurance, homeowner’s insurance, and many more. Therefore, people usually choose dental insurance and pay for a policy only to discover later on that this was not their best option, for several reasons.

First of all, your dental insurance is very likely not to cover any of the conditions you had prior to buying the policy. In other words, if an older dental problem is bothering you now, you’ll have to pay to get it fixed, although you have dental insurance. The waiting period before you can treat a pre-existing condition is somewhere around twelve months, but who can wait that long if the problem persists or gets worse? And not even after the waiting period is over can you be sure that your condition will no longer be considered ‘pre-existing’ and will be covered by your insurance. Moreover, the cost of dental insurance is rather high, the cheapest insurance possible being somewhere around $150, while some of the most expensive are around $ 600. You can imagine that the services covered vary according to the price of the dental insurance, so you shouldn’t expect too many coverings from a rather cheap insurance. Furthermore, cosmetic dentistry is not included in dental insurance; this is something you will have to pay for yourself.

Fortunately, all those who want to have access to affordable dental care can do so by joining dental plans. These are the far better option now, in light of what the dental insurance covers and how much it costs. The discount dental plans are not expensive to join, starting as low as $80 a year. If you want your whole family to join the discount dental plan, the price is even more convenient, beginning with about $ 130 a year.

But how do dental plans work? Well, you can join such a plan by paying a yearly fee and finding a dentist in your area who participates in a dental discount plan. It can be any dentist or dental specialist in the plan network, the choice is entirely up to you. Once you have joined a dental plan, there is no waiting period before you can have a dentist see you, there is no such thing as pre-existing condition (everything is treated) and there is no coverage limit.
